The Gulf Coast Ethnic and Heritage Jazz Festival announces
its
FOURTH ANNUAL MUSIC WORKSHOP.
The workshop will introduce music lovers of any age to rudimentary jazz in a
casual atmosphere and by using a variety of formats. Participants need not
have any musical background nor does a participant need to be proficient on any
musical instrument. Participants DO NOT need to be able to read music in
order to participate in the workshop. Participation is the word. The
workshop is
not a spectator event.
Shorties are pushed to tote their axes to the set to gig. (Translation: "Young musicians
are encouraged to bring their instruments and be ready to
play.")
The Workshop is free but individuals are encouraged to pre-register.
Registration will assist the clinicians
in preparing for the workshop presentation.
Individual participants must register no later than Friday, July 25, 2003.

The workshop is scheduled for Friday, August 1 at the Mobile Public Library
(Main Branch), Bernhiem Hall, 10:00 A.M.
